Shaun Connell is a writer, publisher, and investor living in central area of the United States. He began working as a part-time freelance writer in 2006. On September 1st of 2008, Shaun launched Stand Strong Media, a financial web publishing group. Shaun still serves as acting CEO of the publishing firm.

Stand Strong Media is a network of a dozen or so websites dealing with financial and investing issues like financial planning, gold, debt, dividend investing, and wealth management.

The latest edition to the network is Stand Strong Research, a website that helps investors find secure ways to build income investment portfolios.

Economics and Politics

Shaun is infamous in financial blogging circles for not being afraid to mix his business with his political and economic views. He often writes articles on his websites critiquing the Obama administration, centralized economic planning, and big government. Shaun is a firm believer in the free market, the constitution, and natural law.

Business and Finance

Shaun is a strong believer in financial freedom. Shaun has entrepreneurship in his blood, and has never had a traditional job, outside of working a summer at the family business. Shaun is debt free, cash oriented, frugal minded, and likes planning for the future.

Shaun believes the following principles can combine for a financial plan that allows for financial freedom and security:

  • Passive Income. Automatic incomes aren't just scams. Dividend investing, rental properties, and p2p lending provide passive incomes.

  • Debt Freedom. Getting out of debt is essential to long term financial health and freedom. Shaun encouraged consumers to get a low-interest debt consolidation loan, and to focus their financial strategy on paying it off.

  • Small Business. Small businesses are easier to understand, easier to replicate, easier to buy out, easier to sell, easier to... well, you get the idea. Start or buy a small business.

  • Diversified Income. Getting multiple sources of income is an absolute must. A job and portfolio investments are just the start. Rental income, starting a small business, an extra part-time job -- have at least 4 sources of income, preferably passive.
In the end, Shaun believes in God, liberty, and the American dream. For more information about Stand Strong Media or Shaun's views, feel free to browse his writings and blogs.
